First-Ever SNX 2022 was a Resounding Success
The inaugural SNX – the snack industry’s main education and networking forum – brought hundreds of snack producers and suppliers together for three days of insightful discussions, in-depth business meetings, discovery, and fun. Kicking off with Steven Williams, CEO of PepsiCo Foods North America participating in a fireside chat where he shared lessons learned during Covid-19, the show allowed participants to come together and share their knowledge on subjects such as taking care of employees, the importance of transparency, and more.
SNAC Tank was a major success once again, with audiences dazzled by five up-and-coming snack food companies who went head-to-head to pitch a panel of expert judges including guest judge Rohan Oza, Co-Founder of CAVU Ventures, and guest shark on the popular show Shark Tank.
Grand Prize Winner
Candid, creator of NoonsTM cacao bites snack, took home the $10,000 grand prize with its “better-for-you pedigree for both people and the planet” snack.
Audience Choice Award
Pulp Pantry, a brand of veggie chips made with upcycled, fresh vegetable juice pulp, took home the Audience Choice Award, received an unexpected $5,000 pledge from Mr. Oza, who thought the audience’s favorite pitch also deserved a prize.

The Experience Zone
The revamped SNAC International trade show format allowed attendees to network informally in the Experience Zone, a kiosk-style show where people could visit informally at booths highlighting each step of the snack development process. The Zone featured a Sustainable Packaging Showcase, a Name That Flavor: Creation Station, and a Virtual Reality Lounge. The new format also featured Supplier Suites, where suppliers and snack producers held over 700 private, uninterrupted business meetings.

Women in Snacks (WinS)
WinS hosted a drawing where attendees were invited to name their “superpower” for the chance to win a grand prize of a free 2022 Executive Leadership Forum registration and a $500 travel stipend for a first-time female attendee. After a tense and incredibly fun raffle, Ann Van Steenhuyse, Senior Scientist at Land O’Lakes, took home the grand prize. Name That Flavor: Creation Station
The first-ever Name That Flavor: Creation Station at SNX sponsored by Fuchs North America, LifeSpice, and Snack Food & Wholesale Bakery invited attendees to taste-test innovative new snack flavors and produce their most creative name. Participating seasoning suppliers then selected the best submissions. The winning flavor names were as follows:
- Cheesecake Crunch – Fuchs North America
- Winter Stew – Fuchs North America
- Sweet Surrender – Gamay Foods
- Caribbean Crave – LifeSpice
- Cheesy Funkadelic – LifeSpice
Attendees were granted the unique opportunity to hear from some of the industry’s greatest minds in six high-level education sessions. These included a discussion on the culture of snacking with Davey McHenry, Senior Vice President of Operations at The Hartman Group, a thorough look at company transparency policies with Kristy Lewis, founder and CVO of Quinn Foods LLC, and a fireside chat on the state of the industry with Steven Williams, CEO of PepsiCo Foods North America.
